Members of Denholme Town Council have expressed reservations about revised plans for a controversial waste tip going before the committee that originally refused the application.
Councillors are concerned about plans for a tip at Buck Park Quarry going before Shipley Area Planning Sub- Committee, which refused the development planning permission last July on grounds of pedestrian safety as well as visual and environmental impact.
They fear the sub-committee members will be compromised when they come to make a fresh decision on the proposed landfill site. Town mayor Councillor Russell Driver said: "I think they are going to be put in an awkward position because this issue has had so much publicity."
Humberside company Wastewise has resubmitted its plans to develop a waste site at the quarry next to Whalley Lane with a capacity for 2.4 million cubic metres of waste.
The two changes since the previous application are the inclusion of a Puffin crossing on the A629 Halifax Road and a tree screening programme.
It would begin before in-filling takes place.
