Bradford-based car group JCT600 is on the look-out for new dealerships to acquire after a year of consolidating the business.

The group spent last year weathering the storms affecting the whole of the motor industry in the UK which have hit its year-end results.

Jack Tordoff, chairman of the firm which was started in Bradford and has its headquarters on Sticker Lane, said today: "We have ample funds available for expansion and we are already looking at a couple of good opportunities."

The plan was outlined as the group produced year-end results which showed its profits had dipped and turnover had risen slightly.

The group saw profits dip to £5 million compared to £6.3 million at the same time last year. This was on an increase in turnover to £240 million compared to £231 million previously.

Jack Tordoff, pictured, said: "I believe these results compare favourably with those being reported by other motor groups.

"Our return on sales is still among the best in the industry.

"Following the action we have taken to reduce used car stock levels, our balance sheet is the strongest it has ever been."
