Eccleshill United returned to winning ways in the Northern Counties East Premier Division last night with a 2-1 victory at Staveley MW.
Two first half goals was enough to see them claim maximum points despite the Chesterfield outfit pulling a goal back five minutes from time.
United's former Halifax Town striker Karl Cochrane set them on their way with a fifth minute opener and a penalty midway through the first half put them in control.
Midfielder Andy Sutcliffe netted from the spot after home keeper Andy Hone had brought Mick Ward down with a poorly timed challenge and Viv Rayson snatched Staveley's late goal.
Guiseley will be hoping to end their ten game run without a home win in the UniBond Premier when fourth placed Hyde United visit Nethermoor tonight.
But it will be a tough task as the visitors will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat in Saturday's top six clash at Lancaster City.
A 3-1 home defeat to Marine on Saturday ensured Guiseley stayed third from bottom in the table, just four points better off than Spennymoor United who have two games in hand.
Defeat for Bobby Davison's men would be a boost for their North Eastern relegation rivals who could improve their own position even further with a home victory over mid-table Leek Town.
Davison still has at least four men sidelined with long term injuries and skipper Des Hazel has returned to the Caribbean for another stint of international duty with St Kitts.
Midfielder Andy Williams (back) and striker Tony Agana (hamstring) are added to the squad after injuries kept both out of the Marine game.
Guiseley (from): Shutt, Nettleton, Gallagher, Daly, Trevitt, Shuttleworth, Hook, Bulgin, Parke, Cooke, Davison, Coleano, Sanders, Ireland, Williams, Agana.
