Sunday Soccer League and Cup round-up: The possibility of an all-Alliance West Riding County Cup final became more likely when Albion Sports won the first of the competition's semi-finals 1-0 against Huddersfield team Junction at county FA headquarters at Woodlesford.
Albion now wait to see if Bolton Woods can join them in the final when they take on holders Hounds on Sunday.
They dominated the game and goalkeeper John Hawkes did not have a serious save to make.
With Jason Ryan behind many of their attacks they were guilty of wasting possession against the Huddersfield side who barely troubled the Albion defence.
Albion missed a succession of chances and Taj Singh could have had a hat-trick and Tariq Hussain might have scored two goals.
The game's only goal came in the 53rd minute when Albion's promising youngster Amjad Iqbal picked up a loose ball in the penalty area and squeezed it into the net.
The win puts Albion into their third final of the season. Only Queensbury, who they meet in the District Cup semi-final next week, stand in the way of four final appearances.
Double-chasing Division 1A champions Eccleshill United reached the final of the Bradford Sunday Alliance Intermediate Cup with a 4-1 win over Albion Sports Reserves.
All three of the side's over-40 brigade made good contributions. Paul Mitchell returned from injury at right back, Brian Cookson scored with a 30-yard volley and the influential Ray Price hit the woodwork with a fierce free kick. The other goals came from Cameron Kiernan, Nicky Hird and Chris Bates.
In the Amateur Cup semi-final Wyke Wanderers beat Holme Wood Athletic 1-0.
Premier Division bottom club Wibsey WMC enjoyed a boost to their survival hopes with a 2-1 win at Bolton Woods. Carl Yewdall scored the winner in a victory which takes Wibsey off the bottom and above Hudsons and Ventus.
With East Bowing Unity winning 4-1 at Ventus, Bradford Moor stay in second place, four points behind after a 3-2 win at Oakenshaw.
Mark Morris's goals have played a big part in Moor's best-ever Alliance season and he was again on target with two goals as Moor edged to victory after Oakenshaw had equalised twice.
With eight players out including suspended strikers Mick Naylor and Steve Blackett, Queensbury paraded two 17-year-olds in Chris Marsden and Steve Mason against Stanley Road.
Marsden scored a good goal but, with Queensbury finding it hard to contain forwards Andy Carlton and Darren Thornton, Stanley Road emerged 3-1 winners and moved into the top four for the first time.
Wrose Bull are assured of Division One football next season after a 5-1 victory over Milestone who are now safe themselves after Calverley Victoria trounced a troubled Queens Athletic 7-0. James Hall, Ryan Gaunt and Steve Thompson each scored twice.
Pudsey Royal needed a point to finish runners-up behind Division 1A champions Eccleshill United and won 10-1 against Greengates Albion. Rory Lowe scored four goals.
Hare & Hounds, already crowned champions of Division 1B, decided to have some end-of-season fun by switching the defenders around to attack at Chellow.
But when the defenders-cum-strikers had been caught offside 18 times and Hounds were 3-2 down players reverted to their normal positions.
Hounds goalkeeper Stuart Christian then buried a penalty and Mark Regan scored twice to clinch a 5-3 win.
The Woodman v St Pat's clash looked to be petering out to a 1-1 draw when a Woodman defender trying to head a dangerous ball over the bar in the last minute diverted it past his own goalkeeper.
Junction beat White Eagles 10-0 with five goals in each half and Dudley Hill wrecked Junction's hopes of finishing third with a 2-1 win at promoted Springfield.
