Members of All Saints Church, Ilkley, are bombarding the world's leaders in a bid to help poverty stricken people in the Third World.
After discovering that the campaign for cancelling Third World debt is not on the agenda of the G8 summit of the world's richest nations in Okinawa, Japan, in July, church members have organised a petition to send to the Japanese Government.
They are also bombarding the leaders of the rich countries with e-mails and letters to try to raise the profile of the campaign.
Church member John Tinkler said: "We share the worldwide concern about debt, especially its effect on children, and we were shocked that the subject had been dropped from the agenda for the G8 summit. So we decided to do something about it."
