TWO teachers at Oakbank School will be pounding the streets on Sunday as they battle to complete this year's London Marathon.
Head of year nine Kay Leigh is a veteran of marathons. Sunday's race is her eighth marathon and fourth in London.
Her best time for the endurance test is 3 hours and 2 minutes. She says: "It's the sub three hour barrier that I'm hoping to break."
Kay is running with her sister and is starting with the elite women's group.
Sunday's race is PE teacher Donna Reed's first marathon and she is simply hoping to finish
Donna, 27, says: "I did the Great North Run in October and I really enjoyed it. I've always wanted to do the marathon, but when I applied I didn't get a place so I've only been training for about two months. I'm just hoping to finish."
Kay, 39, is running to raise money for Cancer Research and Donna is running for the Sussex Beacon HIV charity.
