VILLAGERS in Kildwick and Farnhill are still forging ahead with their plans to buy the village store and run it as a community shop.
The project has been dormant over the winter months, but co-ordinator Pam Swift said it would be gathering momentum once more.
"We've looked at the figures and we're going to have to get at least £20,000 in loans from people," she said.
"So far we've had pledges of around £8,500 from villagers, but we can't put a business plan together until we've agreed a price."
Kildwick and Farnhill store and post office is on the market at the moment.
And the project supported by the Village Retail Services Association which has already helped several communities run their own stores as a non-profit making venture.
"Once we've got the £20,000 we should be able to borrow the rest of the money," added Pam.
"Later on we hope to be able to put together a positive prospectus to give to people in the village."
Anyone who would like to support the project can get in touch with Pam on 631425.
