Bolton Woods bid to make their third final in four seasons when they contend the second County Cup semi-final at Woodlesford tomorrow against holders Hounds from Selby.
Since their quarter-final win over H T Sports on the last Sunday of February, Woods' form has slumped.
Injuries and unavailabilities haven't helped and on Thursday Woods failed to raise a team for their midweek match against Albion Sports and forfeited the points.
The management team of Lal Corbally and Harvey Thornton have been forced to turn out and it's nice to see that Lal, after his long term injury, is starting to look the part again.
Keeper Jason Stoney is out for the season so for new boy Geoff Preston from neighbours Bolton Woods Socials it's the biggest game of his Sunday career.
John Killick, Kevin Woodhead, and Tony Rae, are only in with chances of playing though Woods hope to include leading scorer and hat-trick hero of the last two rounds Gary Shaw and midfielder Paul Bulgin who have missed matches recently.
Oakenshaw lost to Hounds in the quarter-final and really it should have been an all Alliance semi-final for Oakenshaw had enough chances to win the game in ordinary time before Hounds won the tie in extra time when Oakenshaw ran out of steam.
With Albion Sports already at the final stage, the Alliance are hoping for the second all-Alliance final.
The midweek draw with East Bowling Unity has put Albion Sports in the frame for the league title with Unity dropping 14 points and Albion eight.
Albion are now at the halfway stage of fixtures with 11 to play and Unity can't afford to drop many more points. Unity had John Kilner on hat-trick duty at Ventus last Sunday and tomorrow are at Stanley Road, who always tend to give them a hard game. Albion play Wyke Wanderers, who desperately need points to avoid the drop.
Wibsey WMC hadn't won a match in 1999 yet now in a great fight to avoid relegation have won five. Wibsey are at Oakenshaw, a team they have to play again later.
