Skipton RUFC enjoyed a well deserved break on Saturday when scheduled opponents York RI cried off late in the week.
In some respects this was a bit of a disappointment as they play in the division above Skipton and the game would have been a good test of the progress made this season, but no doubt the rest will have done the team some good as they prepare for the final league game this weekend.
Tomorrow, Saturday, sees Stocksbridge visit Sandylands in a game that Skipton must win to be crowned league champions and complete a league and cup double in this the club's 125th anniversary year. Kick off is at 3pm and there is certain to be a large crowd in attendance for this, probably the most important game of the year.
Back in September the club played a celebratory game on their 125th anniversary weekend, and many old players and members came down to watch. Skipton is delighted to be able to invite everyone back to the ground again this weekend to cheer on their local team in their quest for further honours
The Skipton team is: G Smithson, M Beech, W Berrey, A Porter, G Heims, D Howson, A Oldfield, R Birks, D Hayes, N King, A Phillip, A Winthrop, M Davison, R King, B Antonio.
Replacements: P Jenkinson, J Sharpe, G Corrigan
