Albion 22, Dewsbury Moor 41 - In a week dominated by off the field events Albion's preparations for Saturday's game were far from ideal, but caretaker coach Keith Reeves's call to "rally round the flag boys" had its effect.
Playing down the slope Albion opened their account in the third minute when Dean Brookes converted a simple penalty. Moor hit back putting Albion's defence to the test and landed a drop goal to put his team on the score sheet.
Ian Spencer was held on his back over the line, but Gary Boocock dived through a ruck of defenders to score following the scrum.
Any thought of an easy ride were dispelled when Moor's Steve Kaye went in for a try Robinson adding the goal to put Moor ahead.
Albion's good start had been thrown away as a couple of penalties gave Moor the advantage, firstly Paul Taylor went over for a try converted by Robinson and Robinson the raced 30 metres to score a try which he also converted to leave Albion hanging on at 6-19.
They pushed into action with Ian Spencer, Dean Brookes, and Gareth Greenbank making good yards and catching the Moor offside. Dean Brookes quickly tapped the ball and combined with Simon Kelk to put Aly Feather over. Dean Brookes added the extras to put Albion back in the game.
Following some good open play their full back Carl Riley scored a try out wide, Robinson converting from the touch line to put Moor further in front.
Unforced errors had been Albion's main problem to leave them 25-12 down at the break.
They opened the second half in inspired form and were again on the score sheet after only four minutes, Rob Bailey diving over from acting half back to score and Albion were back in the game at 25-16.
Rob Bailey was causing problems every time he got the ball but a lack of concentration cost them dearly when Robinson burst through Albion's defense to increase their lead.
Minutes later Ian Spencer went on 20-metre run through the Moor defence before passing to Ben Farrar who went over. Dean Brookes added the goal to put Albion back into contention at 22 - 29.
It was nip and tuck at this time as both teams played some good open rugby. A loose pass was intercepted by Moor's Paul Taylor who went 70 metres unopposed to score his second try under the posts.
The try was the final nail in Albion's coffin. After being on the up for most of this half they gifted Andy Robinson his third try which he converted to give a score line of 22 - 41.
Ian Spencer , Rob Bailey and Simon Kelk had worked hard throughout for Albion without reward but Spencer was Albion's man of the match.
Albion's last Conference League game of the season is at Crossflatts on April 22nd with a 2.30 kick off.
