Keighley Victoria were crowned Division One champions after a 2-1 victory over challengers Cavendish on Sunday.
The team of friends who to back together this season, after a 10-year break, have performed with tremendous spirit throughout the season. Mark Bradshaw scored the first goal in the game to settle Victoria's nerves and Phillip Booth added a second.
Cavendish turned up the heat after the re-start and got a late goal, but Victoria's defence, which has been solid all season, held back the Cavendish assault.
Craven Athletic reached the final of the Premier Division Cup with a 7-3 semi-final victory over Stanbury Park Rangers.
In a match full of flowing football there was plenty of action with one goal disallowed and another was allowed to stand which perhaps should not have been. Athletic were first into their stride and had the ball in the back of the net on the first attack of the game, but it was disallowed. Stanbury gradually worked their way into the match and were rewarded with an Andy Grange goal and they soon increased their lead.
Craven fought back with and scored three to take the lead, but just before the break Craven equalised with a goal which looked three yards offside. It set up what should have been a dramatic second half, but Craven scored an early goal and took control with Mark Robinson and Jimmy McConville teasing the Stanbury defence. Three more goals followed for Craven and it could have been more. Stanbury created a number of chances, but they were woefully neglected.
In the other semi-final between Three Horses and Albert Hotel proved to be a one-sided affair with Horses finding the net six times without reply. To be fair to Albert they had a catalogue of injuries and a number of suspensions which meant they had to field a seriously weakened team. Three Horses scorers were J Smith (2), D Rowell (2), J Rowell and Colin Horsefield.
The result of these two semi-finals sets up a great Premier Division Cup final at Steeton on May 14 between Craven Athletic and Three Horses.
In Division One honours were even when Bocking and Raiseprint/Star met, both teams finding the net twice. Bocking were two up at the break and looked the have three points in the bag. However, they conceded two goals after the break.
Silsden Athletic went 3-0 down to Ferrands, yet it was not until late in the game that Ferrands scored the goals which gave them all three points.
