MEMBERS of Addingham's Bracken Ghyll Golf Club are hoping to be able to play 18 holes by the end of the year as work starts on a course extension.
The club is now run by its members and submitted a successful planning application last year to extend the course.
"Although the whole process has taken longer than anticipated, we are finally there," said Robert Stead, captain and chairman of the green committee. "It was a big step for members to take over the club and now they will be able to see things really starting to progress."
In the last year 50 new members have joined and the club has a new website at www. bracken.ghyll.btinternet.co.uk
