Goalkeeping coach Neville Southall believes Bradford City must take heart from his former club Everton as they look to avoid relegation.
The Bantams were pushed closer to the Nationwide League by a 4-0 drubbing at Goodison Park which leaves them six points adrift of safety with just five games remaining.
And even Derby's 2-1 home defeat by West Ham and Wimbledon's similar loss to Liverpool was of little consolation to them as they slipped down a place as Sheffield Wednesday surprisingly beat Chelsea 1-0.
Southall returned to Goodison Park for the first time in a competitive match but could only watch as City slumped to their sixth successive defeat.
However the veteran of several relegation battles during his later years with Everton believes there is still hope.
When asked if City were already down, he said: "This (Goodison Park) is the last place where you can think you are down with games still to play.
"Everton have had a few seasons where it has looked all over only for an amazing fightback.
"Life goes on and if we can get the wins we can still do it. It is how people react to defeats that is important."
City went behind after just two minutes.
