THE future of the village post office will be one of the items on the agenda of the next meeting of Menston Community Forum in June.
Peter Finlay, the sub-postmaster of Menston Sub-Post Office, will take the floor and spark discussion on the future of postal services in the village. The second main topic of discussion will be tackling crime and improving
community service.
The guest speakers on this item of
discussion will be Christine Flecnoe, of the Shipley Constituency Area Panel and Inspector Paul Clynch, who is based at Ilkley Police Station.
David Calverley, chairman of the
community discussion group, said the forum was going from strength to strength.
However, he said he would like to see more younger village members attending the
meetings.
He said: "We are on the up and up. We have had some hot topics for discussion lately, such as the future of Highroyds Hospital.
"Our numbers have been increasing. It would be nice to see some young faces because the long term future of the village is in their hands."
