DAWN Johnson of Guiseley represented England in the Six Nations Under-17 badminton championships in Jonkoping, Sweden, over the weekend. England were placed third with Denmark winning the competition.
The Guiseley School pupil played in the individual singles and in the doubles with her partner Claire Millward from Coventry. Dawn ad Claire won the national doubles title at Doncaster earlier this year.
They were part of a team of six boys and six girls who represented their country in Sweden in what England coach Barbara Jones said was one of England's strongest teams for years.
Dawn returned from Sweden to compete in the Inter-Counties tournament in Nottingham this week. She captain's the Yorkshire side which also includes Leeds players Sarah Bok and Julie Wright.
