Albion Sports will not have to play a league game three days before their FA Sunday Cup final appearance after all.
Opponents Stanley Road have agreed for the Bradford Sunday Alliance Premier Division game to be switched from tomorrow to May 18.
It means Albion, who beat Bradford Moor 2-1 last night to maintain their challenge for the league title, have a little more breathing space before their big clash with Hull side Prestige Brighams at Nottingham Forest's City Ground on Sunday.
League fixture secretary Brian Goodall said: "It is good to see the clubs working to help Albion with their fixture problems."
And he shot down suggestions that a complaint from one of their rivals, East Bowling Unity - reported by the Telegraph & Argus - had resulted in the league asking Albion to play on Thursday.
"That wasn't the case," said Goodall. "East Bowling Unity, like all of the other teams in the league, are fully behind Albion's bid to win the FA Sunday Cup. They also support the League's stance on all matters.
"This was an issue for Stanley Road and Albion to resolve. We said we would accept any date they came up with and they have agreed to a switch which suits everybody.
"Our stance never altered. We have to look after the interests of all our clubs, not just one."
The news will come as a relief to Albion manager Kulwinder Singh, who is having to keep his players fresh for every game in their hectic end-of-season programme.
Albion, who won the Sunday Senior Cup on Sunday by beating Fairweather Green 4-0, are chasing five major honours. They are still in the hunt for the Premier Division title and have eight outstanding league fixtures to play as well as being in the finals of the FA Sunday, West Riding County and Bradford District cups.
The Sunday Alliance is not calling off this Sunday's matches to enable teams to support Albion but they will agree to early kick-offs if teams wish to go to Nottingham.
"With a 10am start there should still be plenty of time to get to Nottingham Forest for a 3pm kick- off," Goodall said.
