Wharfedale and Otley will pick up three awards and a league championship at tonight's Jewson National League prize presentation at The Belfry in Warwickshire.

Otley will accept the championship trophy, and Peter Clegg has been named Coach of the Year. Winning promotion to Premiership Two could be worth more than £200,000 to the club with sponsorship and television deals included.

Wharfedale centre Andy Hodgson is Player of the Year and winger Adam Mounsey Kicker of the Year.

Former Bulls player Hodgson succeeds another Wharfedale player David Pears, an ex-England international.

Mounsey won his award - based on percentages - in the last match of the season, overtaking Bracknell's Carson Russell.

A poor performance against Lydney had dropped the former Bradford Grammar School pupil to second, but Russell was equally bad in his last match at Camberley, Mounsey winning with 71.04 per cent to Russell's 70.5 per cent.

The Dalesmen's Michael Harrison and Peter Hartley were joint second in the Coach of the Year award.

In the three seasons since the awards began Wharfedale have won four trophies.

Otley will be presented with the championship again before tomorrow's home match against Bradford and Bingley for the Granville Clark Memorial Trophy (3pm).

The home side have named a strong XV, Rob Lamb hooking in place of the absent Duncan Sayers. Peter Curtis is in the back row in place of thumb-injury victim Phil Griffin.

Bradford and Bingley are so stretched by injuries and unavailability that they may well bring in guests.

"We want to play the match because it is a memorial game, but we have six out - Andy Murphy, Mark Heap, Richard Thomas, Mark Thomas, Richard Petyt and Tim Marlow - and may well have to bring in guest players to make us up to 15."

Injuries picked up in their second round Yorkshire Cup tie at halifax on Wednesday mean that Cleckheaton have had to cancel their home match against keighley.

Martin Whitcombe, coach of the Crusaders, said: "We have picked two sides and will be looking for new opponents, but we might struggle at this short notice."

Otley (probable): R Duckett; S Smith, R Whatmuff, M Billington, M Kirkby; D Clappison, A Brown; R Kelly, R Lamb, S Rice, I Carroll, P Williams, P Curtis, J Burke, L Filipo. Replacements: J Skurr, A N Other.
