A PREMIERSHIP football club has re-launched its bid to build a training academy on former school playing fields.
Bradford City AFC last year failed to win permission to build the academy, which would have included several football pitches and a sports hall, on land owned by Woodhouse Grove School in Apperley Bridge.
The application was rejected because of concerns about the scale of the development from villagers and Leeds City Council. The site is split between boundaries of Leeds City Council and Bradford District Council.
Now the club has submitted a scaled-down application for an academy to train the young Premiership stars of the future.
Club secretary John Pollard said: "The main thing is there will be no sports hall this time. The original plan had a sports hall with showers, dressing rooms and offices."
The new plan includes several football pitches for training.
