DANNY McGEE helped Yorkshire Under-20 rugby union side to the National Championship -- as Yorkshire clinched an impressive double last weekend.

McGee scored a vital try in the White Rose side's 43-38 victory over East Midlands.

He had flown back from South Africa where he had been on holiday with other members of the Keighley club, to take part in the final at Twickenham.

The fullback's try came just seven minutes into the game and helped set the platform for victory.

They dominated the early stages, but saw East Midlands fight their way back from a 43-21 deficit to be just five points behind at the final whistle.

n David Lister helped Yorkshire senior side capture rugby union's County Championship crown last weekend.

Dave, a former member of Keighley Rugby Union Club, has been a vital member of the county side which has swept all before them this season.

At Twickenham they held out for a 16-9 victory over Devon, fighting off a fierce onslaught from the West Country side.

Yorkshire's attacking break came when former rugby league player Lafaele Filipo, now playing with Otley rugby Union, passed to his clubmate, Mark Kirby, on the wing putting him clear to race in from his own half.

Lister left keighley to play with Wharfedale and was one of three members of the Dales club in the championship team.
