Oakbank teacher Anne Hogben has had her first taste of top-flight judo refereeing while officiating at an international event.
On Sunday Ann took charge at the Cadet International in and followed up by refereeing a junior international contest later in the week
"It was a very long day for the officials at the Cadet event. I refereed from 10am until 11pm with very little time off the mat so my powers of concentration were tested to the full. Nevertheless it was a very rewarding day," Ann said.
This weekend she takes charge at the National Team Championships in Redcar and at the end of June she will be officiating at another international in Kent.
