The growing national reputation of Timothy Taylor's classic pale ale Landlord has been further enhanced with news that the bottled version is to be stocked at Tesco's and Waitrose supermarkets.
Landlord is the current CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain, and recently added the Gold Medal and Championship trophy at the International Brewers Awards, becoming the first beer to hold both accolades simultaneously.
Bottled Landlord also won Gold at the International Beer and Cider Awards organised by Off Licence News.
Taylor's managing director Charles Dent says: "Bottled Landlord is already on the shelves at a number of leading supermarkets. For a family-owned brewery this is excellent news, and proves there are still discerning drinkers who appreciate traditional beers brewed in the time-honoured manner, using only the very finest ingredients."
Free trade sales manager Tony Howlett adds: "There is undoubtedly a growing demand for classical English bottled ales, and this shows the major supermarkets are looking for beers of proven quality that will increase customer choice. We are sure Landlord will be a success."
Timothy Taylor's, the Keighley-based brewery, was founded in 1858 and is well known nationally for producing a stable of consistently excellent quality award-winning cask ales. Landlord, its premier brand, has won more prizes than any other beer.
