A 90-year-old woman had to be treated in hospital after being knocked down and injured - by an eight-year-old cyclist.
The woman fractured both wrists and suffered a cut head after being knocked to the ground as she walked along a pavement with a friend in Baildon.
Following the accident the youngster - who at eight would be too young to be charged with any offence - and another girl rode off from the scene.
Now police are trying to trace the youngster - who it is thought may have hurt herself - although they have stressed she is not in any trouble and does not face any action being taken against her.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Two women aged 90 and 87 were walking on the footpath on Cliffe Avenue towards Baildon Green at about 10.30am on Sunday.
"A girl, believed to be about eight, was riding on the footpath on a green and black pushbike with another girl - thought to be about ten - on a bike.
"The younger girl was in collision with the 90-year-old and both the woman and child fell to the floor. The young girl rode off on her pushbike in a distressed state."
The 90-year-old had to be treated for her injuries at Bradford Royal Infirmary and later discharged but both she and the other woman were said to have been badly shaken by the incident.
The spokesman added: "We're appealing for the girl, her friend or anyone who's aware of who they are to contact the police."
