Bradford City could be in for a multi-million pound cash boost in the coming months as Premiership football prepares for its first £1 billion-plus television deal.

Sky's existing deal still has 12 months to run but the top flight clubs met last week to thrash out the details of bidding for the next contract.

After intense discussion, the Premiership opted to put three three-year packages up for grabs with the rights to 66 live Sunday and Monday games, six more than BSkyB hold under the present contract, expected to crash through the £1billion barrier alone.

Forty pay-per-view matches will form part of a separate deal, with the third being a combined highlights package for Saturday and Sunday deals.

Bids must be entered by 2pm tomorrow with a result announced on Thursday.

Speculation suggests that clubs will receive an advance payment of £100 million this summer with Manchester United due to be handed £7 million after being featured on television most times last season.

The trio of promoted clubs - Manchester City, Charlton and Ipswich - are tipped to receive around £3 million each.

Bantams' managing director Shaun Harvey said: "It is too early to say how much the advance payment for television rights will be worth because at this stage no one knows the figures involved in the bids.

"Depending on whom you listen to and at what time, the sums involved vary enormously.

"It is correct to say though that as a result of the television contracts, additional monies will be available.

"The Premier League is committed to distributing the advance payments among member clubs as soon as it arrives. Just when that will be is unclear at this stage though because the bids are not opened until 2pm tomorrow."

Any additional money coming into the Valley Parade coffers could be a welcome boost for Paul Jewell as he looks to build on last season's survival.
