All unmanned rubbish tips in Bradford provided by the local authority will be closed down if a new West Yorkshire County Council policy is approved today. The tips, many of which contain a huge skip in which householders have dumped rubbish, may be replaced by facilities at County Council landfill sites and waste treatment plants in the Bradford area - all manned.

With a team of six, the Javelin Jupiter, made by Jowett Cars of Idle, entered for the 24-hour Le Mans road race, left Bradford today on the first stage of the journey to France. Painted in English racing green, the Jupiter will be driven by T G (To mmy) Wisdom, and T C Wise, well known in the North as a trials competition driver.
