When it comes to training for a job, 16-year-old Andrew Willoughby certainly knows how to carve himself a career.
After being unable to find himself a job, Andrew was referred to Keighley College by Bradford Careers - and took up a full-time course in carpentry and joinery. Now he has transferred to a day release course and is working for PG Joinery.
Course tutor Paul Slack says: "Andrew has proved himself to be an extremely motivated student. He was listed as Category C, which meant he required extra help with his course work. But he has shown he has a natural ability for woodwork, and is undoubtedly one of the best students in his year.
"Andrew has proved what can be achieved through hard work and a determination to succeed."
Anyone aged 16-18 living in the Bradford District who would like to take up a similar training opportunity should call Bradford & District Training and Enterprise Council on 01274 751321.
