GUISELEY bodybuilder David Thackray travelled to Portugal to compete against Europe's best and finished ninth out of 15 in his class in the Mr Europe Competition.
This was the first time David had competed at this level and it marked a giant step forward for him.
On his return he competed in the European Federation of Body Builders Championships in Warrington on Sunday and finished second in this European qualifier which will lead to him travelling into Europe once more.
David is seeking sponsorship as his talents take him to the higher realms of his sport.
The 40 year-old makes his living driving for Ilkley meat wholesaler Roland Agar.
He trains at Johnny's Gym in Yeadon four nights a week.
