Guiseley put up a dogged performance to overcome the challenge of Second Division Otley in Sunday's Waddilove Cup to earn a third round tie at home to Rawdon.
Guiseley had restricted Otley to 96-8 with only Paul Kelley's 38 providing resistence as Andrew Paley took 3-14 off his nine overs and Martin Knowles 2-7 off his nine.
Charlie Martin and Andrew Mitchell were miserly in their bowling as Guiseley struggled to get the runs Martin finishing with a very commendable 1-5 off his nine overs and Mitchell 1-11 off his nine. Only 28 from Glen Taylor and 28 from Neil Allitt turned the game Guiseley's way as they lost seven wickets in gaining victory.

Both Burley teams progressed to next round of the cup at the expense of newcomers Pool. The first team put behind them their poor league form and won quite comfortably against a side playing well in the new division in a game which had the makings of a cup upset.
Excellent bowling by Roy Broadley, recalled to the first team, restricted Pool and the back up bowlers maintained a disciplined approach to deny Pool no more than 138 runs.
Richard Bolton top scored for Pool with 38.
