Another devastating spell of fast bowling from Guy Saxton set up what should have been an easy victory against the current league leaders.

Despite a slow start Guiseley looked set for a score of about 200 until Saxton was brought back into the action, and ripped through the batting line-up. In his second spell he took seven for 18 off 7.4 overs, including six clean bowled.

Guiseley finished with 134 with Hudson weighing in with 2-64 off his statutory 25 overs. It seemed that the meagre total would be no problem for a strong Steeton batting line-up.

However Steeton crashed to an embarrassing 118 all out with the only useful contribution coming from in-form Aussie Mat Pinniger as the side reached anew low thanks to some terrible shots and a couple of strange umpiring decisions.

A win would have taken Steeton back up the table and into contention, but now they have a huge mountain to climb and may have to rely on the Keighley Cup for some silverware this season.

Silsden had to work hard to hang on for a draw against near neighbours Skipton after letting a good start slip away.

They had Skipton struggling at 13 for three but Chris Gott (75) and Robert Greenwood (57) built a 110 partnership in 80 minutes. John Roberts finished with four for 46.

Skipton's 207-9 looked a big hill for Silsden to climb and only David Jackson with 47 and Hugh Sugden (19) put up much resistance as the Keighley Road side held out at 113-8 to take a single point.

Silsden 2nds turned the tables with a winning draw against Skipton's second string. The Cobbydale side made slow and steady progress on a damp wicket with Stuart Tillotson (20), Adrian Stokes (28) and Paul Tatterton (30) setting the platform for a total of 158-9.

After a bright opening in reply Skipton seemed to loose any appetite for the game after the loss of their third wicket at 26. Kevin Owens struggled to get the ball off the square and ended up batting through all 50 overs for 35 not out.

If they continue to play such negative cricket Skipton 2nds will be favourites for relegation to Division C.

Steeton 2nds collected one point from a much closer encounter with Guiseley who set a target of 195 despite a superb spell from Gary Boulton who took six for 75 in 20 overs.

After losing an early wicket Steeton recovered with Robinson (10) and Oliver Gledhill (23) building a useful partnership, but a middle order collapse left them struggling at 47-5.

Graham Harrison played an anchor role batting through the remainder of the innings for 51 with J Emmott also undefeated in 13 in a tough ninth wicket partnership which saw them add 41 runs and hold out for a draw.
