Darren Ideson completed his second successive century last weekend -- and this time saw his side clinch victory.
The previous week he scored 125 in a 244-run partnership with Richard Parkin before torrential rain washed out the game.
This time he rattle up 101 as Glusburn beat Keighley Tech.
Long Lee faced a formidable challenge in their fight to hold on to third place in the league when Cowling posted 168-9. Opener Mike Dudley (60) set the standard, but with Paul Wilkinson (76) and Jan Haider (67) in form, the Keighley side triumphed by seven wickets.
Oakworth's Michael Scarborough was aware that keeping the ball on the ground might not be as productive as normal at Sutton after weeks of rain had left the ground soaked. He lashed five sixes in his 65 and with opener John Crossley making 53, the visitors reached 171.
That total was enough as Sutton struggled against some tight Oakworth bowling, Robert Hopkinson (4-17) finishing with the best figures as the home side were dismissed for 88.
Haworth produced and opening stand of 74 at Bradley, opener Marsden setting the pace with 67, but there was no substance to the innings once the first wicket fell and a 141 target was always within the home side's reach. James Heseltine (5-44) took the bowling honours for Bradley, while Neil Robinson (37) and Craig Tempest (41) set up a six-wicket win.
Leaders Embsay lost their unbeaten tag and top-spot with a poor batting display which saw them bowled out for 126 at Thornton. Only Duncan Bullough (49 no) showed any form as Brian Laycock (5-32) and Mark Paxton (4-42), back after injury, held the whip-hand. Thornton launched their reply with a 55 opening stand and cruised to a six-wicket win, Kevin Pollard (41) and David Harrison (38) paving the way.
Embsay's defeat allowed Pendle Forest to slip into the lead on the strength of a comfortable win over Carleton. Only opener Windle (45) showed much resistance as the visitors were dismissed for 107, a total the Fence side passed with seven wickets in hand.
Skipton CI struggled on a wet wicket against Barrowford with seven batsmen failing to trouble the scorer in their 81, opener Hargreaves doing well to reach a decisive 48. In reply, the visitors had only six men failing to score, but they still fell four runs short of their target.
Ingrow St John's continue to dominate the Second Division after seeing off their nearest rivals Denholme by 13 runs at Street Lane. The Saints made a modest 145, David Wear (5-32) keeping them in check, but that total proved sufficient to take the points, the visitors falling for 132.
Glusburn and Haworth West End joined Denholme in second place, Richard Parkin (54) helping Ideson take Glusburn to 221-5 and Keighley Tech struggling to 118 in reply.
West End could not have been optimistic when they were shot out for 91 by Airedale, but once Jason Bilbrough (7-27) got to work, there was only one winner, the visitors falling for 52.
Cononley were dismissed for 97 at Foulridge, who cantered home by five wickets.
Barnoldswick 3rds had Mel Parker (6-22) and Peter Pickup (4-18) to thank as they had Jimmy Nelson's back in the pavilion for 43 at Victory Park. The Barlickers went on to an eight-wicket win with Mick Prince (14) an Ian Yates (19) leading the way.
Some tight bowling, particularly by Richard Shovelton (5-26), restricted Gargrave to 82-8 in 45 overs. Despite having a meagre total to chase Chatburn had to work for their runs, using 33 overs before getting home by five wickets.
Division Three leaders Embsay consolidated their position with a seven-wicket win over second-placed Thornton. Ian Robson (5-25) helped to restrict the visitors to 105-8 and opener Brian Hodgson (62 n.o.) guiding his side to victory.
Skipton CI were shot out for just 32 at home to Barrowford, David Berry (5-10) doing the damage, but the visitors had their share of anxieties en-route to victory, losing seven wickets in the process.
Colin Ridehalgh continued a good afternoon for the bowlers with an 8-21 return for Glusburn against Long Lee. The South Craven side reached their 74 run target with nine-wickets in hand with Matt Lloyd 38 not out.
A tight game at Haworth saw Bradley edge home by one wicket after the home side had reached 158-8.
In Division Four, Cowling top-scored with 259 against Keighley Tech, David Hindle being the second batsman to take full advantage of the Tech bowlers as he matched Darren Ideson's century effort with a fine 108 and Nick Staveley added 55. the rose cottage side fell 91 runs short of their target.
Foulridge beat Cononley by 28 runs despite J Calvert's six for 37 performance with the ball as the Lancashire side were bowled out for 94. Both Cononley openers fell without scoring a run and despite a mini revival wickets continued to fall at regular intervals as they were dismissed for 66.
Airedale reached 104 despite a terrible start which saw their first four wickets fall for 23 runs. Imran (48) and Gill (31) rescued the innings but then saw the last four wickets fall for nine runs.
Airedale strike bowler A Loftus took 5-39 to leave Haworth West End in deep trouble and a middle order revival by Nash (30) and Dovenor (34) was not enough to save them as they finished 14 runs short.
Carleton were restricted to 97 at home to Gargrave with John Tatham making 48 as Martin Foulds took 7-33. the visitors were dismissed for 72 in reply.
