Ilkley residents are being urged to have their say on the future of the town.

This Saturday, a public consultation is being held asking people how they would like the town to develop. The answers will help shape the Ilkley Design Statement, a planning blueprint for the town's future.

At the event, in the Lower Hall, Christchurch, The Grove, residents will be asked to complete a confidential questionnaire.

This asks what people like and dislike about the town, and covers topics such as its buildings and architecture, its conservation area, parking, transport services and opportunities for employment and leisure.

To help people with their answers, there is also an exhibition of how Ilkley has developed over the last few years. The results will be passed on to Bradford Council planners.

The group's chairman, David Cartwright, said: "This consultation provides a vital opportunity for Ilkley residents of all ages to express their views on the way Ilkley will develop in years to come. We urge everyone to make the most of it."

The event is being run between 10am and 4pm.
