HUNDREDS of villagers joined in a Millennium celebration weekend with a fun day and open-air service.
The organising committee of Bramhope's Millennium celebration weekend say they were delighted by the response from people of all ages, who participated in the events.
David Bell, of the organising committee, said he had had praise from many villagers who attended the fun day at Bramhope Primary School, and some had even asked if he wanted to hold another event next year.
"It was absolutely fantastic. We had brilliant weather and it was extremely well attended. The balloon race was very successful, although we had to contend with Concorde flying over," he said.
He believes around 500 people came to the fun day, and said children particularly enjoyed the quad bikes and bouncy castle.
Other events over the weekend, including a colourful open-air Pentecost service, were also well-attended. People of all ages, including brownies, guides and rainbows came to the service.
Many people dressed in yellow, red and orange to represent the flames of the Pentecost.
