A DANGEROUS junction which has forced a Yeadon father to become an 'unofficial lollipop man' will be investigated by Leeds City Council
officials this month.
Highways chiefs have promised a full investigation into complaints by Paul Cope that Yeadon's Henshaw Lane is often so busy the only way he can get his family across is to venture out into the middle of the road and stop the traffic himself.
He said: "I have to walk into the road myself and stop the cars like an unofficial
lollipop man so my wife and three children can cross.
" I know I'm taking my life in my hands but sometimes it's
the only way you can get across."
Mr Cope, 39, of nearby Henshaw Avenue, has called for a pedestrian crossing
controlled by traffic lights to be installed at the junction with Harper Lane, Ivegate and Well Hill.
A petition has been signed by more than 200 people.
The Wharfedale Observer first featured Mr Cope's plight back in March.
