JUST six weeks after Yarnbury RUFC's most successful season ever in terms of their league position the club's senior players are back in training as they prepare for the forthcoming season in the restructured Yorkshire Division One.
They are under the expert eye of coach Bob Hood, who enjoyed his success at Twickenham as coach to the Yorkshire Under-21 trophy winning side and was involved on the same day with the senior Yorkshire Squad who won the County Championship final.
Off the pitch the club is holding its annual barbecue on Saturday, August 5. This year's theme is Hawaiian Party so the grass skirts will be out in force.
Tickets can be obtained from Paul Marshall at the club.
Phil Wray, Yarnbury's Premises Chairman, and his band of helpers are busy tidying up the club while Nick, Mercer, the club's Grounds Chairman, is overseeing work on the pitches to ensure that the club has excellent playing surfaces for all their teams. This will enable them to play their flowing style of rugby.
