AFTER a bright start from Australian Justin Ferguson Keighley kept losing wickets and failed to take full advantage.
Ferguson lost his opening partner, Lee Gordon with just three runs on the board.
Stuart Ratcliffe (22) stayed long enough to take the total to 51 for the second wicket and Steve Reape also managed to hang aroundlong enough to give the innings a lift, but they struggled to 165.
Athough they didn't look to have enough runs they made Undercliffe fight for victory with former Yorshire and Somerset spinner J Batty guiding them hom to a 69-run win.
This weekend they are at home to Bankfoot starting at 1.30.
n Keighley 2nds got back to winning ways with crushing victory over former first division team Undercliffe on Saturday.
Keighley lost the toss and the visitors decided to bat on a good hard track. Keighley bowled well and restricted the runs, with Craig Ratcliffe and Waj Ali opening the bowling. All of the support bowlers chipped in with good performances with Allan Birkett claiming one victim, Alex Towler taking 2 for 16, and Waj Ali finishing off the innings with 4 for 28 . Undercliffe were bowled out in 41 overs with only 87 on the board.
In reply Keighley got off to bad start, at 4 for 2, but Nasser Kamal steadied the innings with an breezy 38 to put Keighley within touching distance of the Undercliffe total. The home team soon passed the required total after only 20 overs to record their first win in 4 matches.
