"We've had some fun, now let's prepare for our biggest test."

That was Bradford Bulls skipper Robbie Paul's message after his rampaging Super League leaders re-wrote the record books with a 96-16 rout of Salford City Reds.

The Bulls, who now aggregate a massive 680 points in 16 games, take on closest rivals Wigan Warriors on Friday night in what many pundits feel will prove a dress rehearsal for the Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 14.

And while delighted with the spectacle his side provided yesterday Paul, who bagged four of their 17 tries, knows it will be quickly forgotten if they slip up against the Warriors.

"We drew 12-12 at their place a couple of weeks ago and we know we can play so much better than that. We were pretty fatigued at that point after a hectic schedule of games but we got our feet up last week for the Salford game and it looked like it was the right preparation. Now we are going to be a tough team to handle on Friday night."

Paul revealed that coach Matthew Elliott had set his side the target of reaching the century mark when they went in leading 44-6 at the break.

"Matthew said we could take our foot off the gas when we reached a hundred," Paul explained. "Then he said he would be kind to us and let us ease up at 90 points! If we had stuck with his first message we might have done it.

"But we were just pleased to put a show on for the fans who again came out in big numbers."

Bulls assistant coach Brian Noble said: "It was exhibition stuff at times and we were superior in every facet of the game. But it was probably the little things that please me most, the support play was first class.

"But it is indicative of their state of mind that they went back to the dressing room disappointed by the 16 points they conceded!

"The important thing today was that we didn't pick up any more injuries and have a few players coming back."

Yesterday's rout was the highest score in the club's history and the biggest by any club in the summer era eclipsing the 86-6 win by Leeds Rhinos against Huddersfield Giants at Headingley last season.

Henry Paul also engraved his name in the Odsal record books with 14 goals fron 17 attempts to equal the superb effort by fellow Kiwi Joe Phillips which has stood for 48 years.

But Paul now stands alone as the best Super League marksman having edged past Leeds' Iestyn Harris's 13 goals in that trouncing of the Giants.
