Police are urging householders to be on their guard following a spate of break-ins in Shipley.
Officers believe the same person could be responsible for a number of break-ins in Nab Wood during the early hours of Thursday morning and are appealing for people to step up crime prevention measures.
In one incident a mountain bike was stolen from the garage of a semi-detached house in Moorhead Crescent between midnight on Wednesday and 7am on Thursday.
In a separate incident a burglar fled with a drill after a householder raised the alarm when he heard noises coming from the garage of a detached house in the same road just before 3am.
The thief rode off on a mountain bike and was described as white, aged 18 to 29, 5ft 9in, well built and plump-faced with fine receding hair.
A garage in nearby Nab Wood Drive was broken into on the same night and police received calls from residents to report someone acting suspiciously.
Sergeant Adrian Lyles, of Shipley police, said it was ''more than likely'' that the latest incidents at Nab Wood were linked.
He added: "Vehicle crime and theft from sheds and garages is on the increase in Nab Wood and Moorhead at the moment.
"We'd like people to be more vigilant, report anything suspicious and just make sure all their property is secure.''
Anyone with any information which could help the police are asked to call them at Shipley on (01274) 537459.
