A wildlife artist from Sutton is to be honoured by Bradford University.
David Binns is among a small group of people - including Bradford City chairman Geoffrey Richmond - who will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Letters, from Bradford University.
David is renowned for his colourful bird pictures, which regularly appear in such magazines as the Dalesman and the Yorkshire Journal.
Educated at Skipton and at Leeds College of Art, he is a former head of art at Ermysted's Grammar School, Skipton. David moved to Seahouses in Northumberland as a professional artist before returning to live in his old home in Sutton.
His work is exhibited at the two family art galleries in Northumberland and at Brent in Cowling. A major achievement was a 40-inch diameter painting containing 237 different species of birds.
He receives his doctorate for his contributions as a wildlife artist.
