A month after the Bront Society was ripped apart over the handling of a cash crisis and shock resignation of its director, the world famous Bronte Parsonage Museum at Haworth, is still without a boss.
Bront Society council members - the controlling group - has still not resolved whether it is to appoint a new director - or not.
Society chairman, Margaret McCarthy, who lives in London, says: "We have not made a decision - talks are still on going. We are looking at the staffing structure. We might appoint a new director - we might not.
"The staff are doing a wonderful job. I hope we can make a decision soon because the staff need to know where they are - they can't go on like this forever faced with such a lot of hard work." Last month, at the annual meeting in Haworth, members voiced their anger at being kept in the dark over the circumstances surrounding the resignation of director, Mike Hill, (pictured) and staff grievances.
