A YOUNG German exchange student is already hitting the right notes with her hosts at All Saints Parish Church. Christina Graeser has discovered a shared love of the saxophone with Revd Paul Tudge. Christina, who hails from Erfurt, in former East Germany, has already joined him at practice with the Olicana Sax group. The 19-year-old, who is due to start a career behind the scenes in German television, is also helping with youth work at the parish. Rosie Tudge said: "She is joining in quite a lot. She will be involved in children's work at church and is going to help with the King's Club, run by Ilkley Churches Together. She is used to working with young people." Christina, who is spending four weeks at the vicarage, has already sampled the delights of Ilkley including taking a plunge in the outdoor pool. Christina said: "I like it here very much." Mrs Tudge added: "She is pretty impressed with the beauty of Ilkley and the variety of shops." The
committed Christian, who remembers the fall of the Berlin Wall, was so keen to visit Ilkley she has come without the rest of her church group as she was unable to join their visit later this year.
