Police believe a burglary in a street in Heckmondwike's Dale Lane estate may be linked to another incident the same night in which a man was stabbed by a burglar.
The thief reached through the window of a flat in Wood Avenue between 10pm on Thursday and 1.25am on Friday and pulled a bathroom cabinet through it. He then dropped it on the ground outside. Nothing was stolen.
At 1.15am the same night, police were called to another house in the same street where a 32-year-old man had been stabbed in the abdomen after confronting a burglar.
He was taken to hospital and later released after having stitches.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Dewsbury police helpdesk on (01924) 431059.
