A 49-year-old Baildon man is lucky to be alive after his car plunged 150ft over the edge of Baildon Moor.
Two police officers helped him out of his Rover car last night and he was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where he received treatment for minor injuries including several gashes.
Acting Sergeant Craig Grandison, of Eccleshill police, said: "It seems he is a lucky man. At the moment we don't know why this accident occurred and our inquiries are continuing. We will be speaking to him later on."
The officer said it was unclear who had raised the alarm.
Shipley firefighters also attended the accident at 11.45pm in the car park area off Hawksworth Road.
A spokesman said at first it was thought the man was trapped but he had been able to walk away from the scene with some assistance.
