Two men were being questioned today after they were arrested at Heathrow Air-port in connection with a series of shootings in Bradford.
Detectives detained the two men at the airport yesterday before bringing them back to Bradford.
Detective Chief Superinten-dent Max McLean said one of the men was intending to board a flight out of the country when he was apprehended.
They would both be questioned about a number of shootings in the city.
In the most recent incident, in the early hours of Sunday, a man escaped injury when four or five shots were fired at his bedroom window in Undercliffe Old Road, Undercliffe.
In the previous three weeks there has been a catalogue of violent episodes, including five separate shootings.
Among the incidents were a drive-by shooting, street battles, a gang of youths hurling stones and bottles at police, and a man being dragged from the street, beaten and thrown from a moving car.
The murder of Dexter Coleman, 27, who was shot dead outside the Young Lion cafe in Lumb Lane, Manningham, Bradford, on July 14, is not being linked to the incidents.
Police are still hunting his killer.
