GEMMA REED almost swept the board at Silsden Riding Club's annual trophy show last weekend.
Despite winning numerous awards and rosettes over the years eighteen-year-old Gemma, from Sutton, has been waiting for years to win her first sash,awarded to champions, and then picked up three in one day.
Riding her 15-hands pony Millicent, she took five first prizes, two championships and was overall show champion.
Gemma is a former pupils of South Craven School and trains with riding instructor Heather Airey. Next week she will be taking part in Britain's biggest show-jumping event, Ponies Uk, at Peterborough.
At the Silsden show Gemma and her young pony won frist prizes for the Ridden Show Hunter Pony, Riding Horse, Open showing under 15-hands, Novice showing under 15-hands and the Novice Working Hunter Pony.
She also won the Showing championship and the Working Hunter Championship to take the overall show Championship trophy.
Other championship winners at the event were P Hinchcliffe (Oliver) In Hand Champion, S Richards (Sunny Cavalier) Novice Equitation, J Whiteley-Guest (Western Symphony) Equitation.
