Dougie Lampkin swept to his sixth British Championship title with a stunning performance on home ground last weekend.
Lampkin has the motorcycle world at his feet after dominating the World Championship earlier in the year. He clinched the British title with one round still to go when the sixth round was held at Addingham Moorside on Sunday.
In June he won a record fourth World Trials Championship, and still has one round of that competition to go, in Andorra, in September.
He has won is six British titles in just seven years, and missed out on the year because of injury. Now he has his sights set on a shot at the outright British record, which was set by Irish rider Sammy Miller in the 1960's when he won 11 titles.
Dougie destroyed the opposition in the championship class last weekend, picking up just three penalty points on the rocky hillside course.
He was 30 penalties ahead of Radson team mate Sam Connor and even tough Spanish teenager Adam Raga wilted in the strong sunshine. Experienced rider Steve Colley fared little better on his Team Tarres Gas Gas.
Best of the Yorkshire riders, after Dougie Lampkin, were Ben Hemingway and Martin Crosswaite who were fifth and sixth while Dan Clark got his new Scorpa into seventh place to collect nine championship points.
James Lampkin made it a family double by winning the Expert class from cousin Dan Hemingway with Sheffield's Dan Thorpe in third place. James has more or less settled the Expert title but will have to wait six weeks until September 24 and the South Birmingham Motor Club's championship finale at Tugford before the champagne flows.
