Eccleshill United have still not played a pre-season friendly after Saturday's trip to Merther Tydfil was cancelled.
The club's general manager Derek Greenwood said the news was a bitter disappointment to everyone at Plumpton Park, but that spirits remained high.
"We had the first and second teams up here and had a full scale training game with everyone involved," said Green-wood.
"We thought it might have been a bit flat, especially after losing last Saturday's fixture, but the atmosphere was fabulous.
"We had a few trialists involved in the game and they couldn't believe the team spirit between our lot. And they certainly enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar after."
United should finally get their pre-season into gear tomorrow when they take on Sunday League side East Bowling Unity at their Fairfax ground.
