From the Telegraph & Argus of August 11th, 1975... A new pelican crossing got an official 'opening' yesterday in Keighley Road, Frizinghall. The crossing, built at a cost of about £1,500, replaces two other crossings, and will serve many of the people employed by the Isco 5 blind workshops. Mr C B L Ford, county road safety officer for Bradford, explained: "The crossing should be beneficial because blind people will be able to hear a bleeping noise which tells them when the lights are in their favour."
From the Telegraph & Argus of August 12th, 1950... The staff position at St Luke's Hospital, Bradford, where 33 nurses have been in bed for most of this week with "moderately severe" tonsilitis, is likely to be much improved next week. All the sick nurses are reported to be much better, and no new cases have been discovered.
