Officers hunting a hit-and-run quad biker who injured a young boy have had several calls from members of the public naming two possible suspects.

Nasar Ashraf suffered a broken leg after being knocked down in an alleyway in West Bowling, Bradford, on Friday afternoon. The bike rider failed to stop, leaving the five-year-old in agony on the ground. Nasar, who has had plastic surgery to a cut on his head, was recovering at home today after being released from Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Sergeant Keith Cludderay, of Odsal traffic police, said there had been a good response to appeals for information. "We have had several calls about the incident. One or two names of possible suspects have been mentioned and officers are following up leads in the Odsal area," he said. "The incident happened at about 3.30pm. We still want to hear from anyone who saw a quad bike being ridden around the area that afternoon."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Odsal Police on Bradford 376659 or 0845 6060606.
