Ponderosa Rural Therapeutic Centre has welcomed a new face to the fold - a famous polo pony.
Kappa once belonged to the Sultan of Brunei. Bred and trained to be a polo pony, he was regularly ridden by the Sultan's brother, Prince Jeffrey.
He was donated to the Heckmondwike centre by a Haworth woman who had bought a horse and didn't have room to keep both.
While at Ponderosa, 18-year-old Kappa will take disabled children on pony rides and help them learn to ride.
Because of his height, Kappa would not usually have made it in the polo world. But due to his outstanding performance and ability to turn quickly, he was allowed to stay - and became the largest polo pony the Argentinian team ever had.
He retired from polo at the age of 12 due to injury and now carries his own passport to travel the world.
