The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Stanley King, has asked the public to get involved with his appeal to raise cash for the district's hospitals.
People are being urged to don their thinking caps and come up with a whole host of fundraising ideas.
Donations will be given to the neurology departments of Airedale General Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary.
Lord Mayor Councillor Stanley King said: "The appeal is intended to be something that will benefit the whole of greater Brad-ford. That is why we insisted that Airedale Hospital should also be a beneficiary of the appeal.
"Anything that people or organisations can do to help will be greatly appreciated. I would be more than willing to come along and help out."
Ronnie Farley, who is helping to run the campaign, said: "The Lord Mayor is determined to spread the appeal across Bradford.
"We would be delighted if people in towns and villages got together and formed a mini-committee and ran any events at all.
"We have an overall campaign and people are working away in Bradford. But if, for instance, Ilkley wanted to stage a ball we would be very supportive of that."
Possible ideas include duck races, garden parties, cycle rides and talent competitions.
Anyone who wants to find out how they can get involved should telephone (01274) 754965.
