There is no doubt about the most attractive match of the day in the Bradford League First Division tomorrow.
It is the clash between Priestley Cup winners East Bierley and new leaders Bradford & Bingley.
The Bierley match is the start of a tough run-in to the end of the season for Bingley who took over as leaders after beating Windhill by 107 runs.
For after playing Brighouse at home a week tomorrow, Bingley's last three matches are against the clubs immediately below them - Pudsey Congs, Baildon and Hanging Heaton - in what promises to be an exciting end to the season.
Key to their title hopes is the continued good form of Australian all-rounder Richard McCarthy who has taken 13 wickets in the last two matches.
Congs will be looking to bounce back from their dramatic seven-run home defeat against Hanging Heaton last Saturday when they meet third-from-bottom Lidget Green at home.
Lidget, who have resigned from the league, are making a valiant effort to keep out of the bottom three, but it would be a major surprise if Matthew Doidge's talented side did not beat them.
Baildon emerged from the lean spell that saw them slip from top to third by beating Yorkshire Bank by five wickets to leave them only three points behind Bingley and Pudsey Congs.
They will fancy their chances of beating fourth-from-bottom Farsley at Jenny Lane, but will need their batting to continue the recovery which was evident in the win at the Bank.
Richard Robinson guided them to victory with 50 not out and skipper Mick Emmerson will be looking especially to him and their other free scoring batsman Paul Spragg to show their best form.
Meanwhile, the leaders of each division in the Bradford League will contest what promises to be an intriguing Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield final on Sunday (1pm).
The second-team showdown at Spen Victoria will feature Pud-sey Congs, who are five points clear in the Division One, and Gomersal, who have a nine-point lead in the Second Division.
Gomersal, who joined the league from the Central Yorkshire League at the start of this season, are unbeaten in the league while Congs have lost only two matches.
